“Reading, reading,” “participating in professional events,” or “sharing experiences” are all practices in clean code development. We are convinced that Clean Code can only be developed if our developers always stay up to date, learn new things regularly and share their knowledge with each other. That is why we attach great importance to self-study, continuing education and knowledge transfer — and provide our employees with everything they need.
We want to support all of our employees individually. For us, internal knowledge transfer is also crucial for successful team collaboration. That is why we have the generic.de Academy as in-house continuing education institution founded.
Software development according to clean code development needs to be learned — and should be practiced continuously. We regularly offer our coding dojos for this purpose. In various categories, we provide our developers with exercises of varying scope and at different levels — the so-called katas. The tasks are solved independently and then analysed and discussed in joint code reviews. The primary goal is to learn from each other and share knowledge.
We have relied on clean code development for more than ten years and have firmly anchored the system in our corporate principles. Of course, basic Clean Code Developer (m/f/d) training is therefore also included in onboarding. For us, one thing is certain: Clean Code Development thrives on showing off, doing and participating.
You will receive your basic Clean Code Developer (m/f/d) training from our experienced internal Clean Code trainers Thomas, Felix and Thomas, who were personally trained by Clean Code Mastermind Stefan Lieser. They teach you the value system and the associated principles and practices of the Clean Code Development Initiative right from the start. In no time at all, you will learn how to develop clean codes and use the practices in everyday life.
Since 2022, we have not only had trained Clean Development Trainers who share their knowledge both internally and externally, but also seven Clean Development Ambassadors. They ensure that the Clean Code spirit withstands everyday development. Each month is dedicated to a specific Clean Code Grades (red, orange, yellow, green or blue), which focuses on the ambassadors actively accompanying and supporting projects. Together with the team, they define code conventions, quality gates and other measures to ensure high code quality.
We see promoting and training young talent as one of our central tasks. Every year, we train young people through IHK training occupations or dual university studies. In doing so, we offer an exciting and highly professional development environment, insights and collaboration in a variety of different IT projects, as well as training with the latest technologies and methods for sustainable software development.
Regardless of whether it's an internship, a working student job or a thesis. In addition to studying, we enable students to get a taste of business and gain practical experience: from internal research and development projects to a wide variety of customer projects.
In order to encourage girls and young women to opt for STEM careers (mathematics, computer science and technology), we are involved in the state initiative “Women in STEM Jobs”. We provide opportunities to get to know the job description of software development in a practical way - for example on International Future Day, Girl's Day, BOGY or BORS internships.
